Reminds me of achy joints with a flu bug......but I don't have flu.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member, I've also been hurting "all over" for months now. It's one of the several symptoms of hypothyroidism I've been going through and I'm waiting to see the endocrinologist on the 10th. I have no idea why he needed three months to see if it would "correct itself" before giving me supplemental thyroid, but you can bet I'm going to ask him. Looking for answers, though (including this annoying itching), I found several articles explaining that long-term use of inhaled corticosteroids (Spiriva, Advair, Dulera, etc.,) depresses the adrenal system. In other words, the thyroid problem could have been caused by the medication. The nurse practitioner said she thought my symptoms sounded like thyroid but to "go ahead and stop" the inhaler. I've weaned myself off of it gradually, but guess what? Bone and muscle pain are symptoms of withdrawal from inhaled corticosteroids! The choice is always whether the good effects of any medication are greater than the negative ones, and the answer is different for everyone. Hope you feel better soon!

@A MyCOPDTeam Member: Where have you been? I've been thinking about you all day, so glad you're checking in.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member: What medications do you take? Check the list of side effects. Everybody doesn't experience every side effect. An unlucky few get ALL of them! I've had that itching thing -- mentioned it when SuZZ first "came down" with shingles -- and it seems to be improving (but not gone) since I've finally gotten off the inhaler with the steroids (Dulera). There are other causes, of course, and SuZZ mentioned some of them. Hope you're better soon!

Well, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, I hit the wrong key, but I was starting to tell you that a drug that puts everyone else I know into a state of drowsiness only dries my sinuses, but the inhaler others apparently are tolerating has really done some serious damage to me. Nothing to do but keep trying to find what works best!

@A MyCOPDTeam Member....well at least you got clean sheets on the bed! It's one of my favorite things in the world! Hmmm, your Nic patches make me wonder if perhaps you are allergic to latex???
AND
I wonder if a Benadryl or two would calm it some? Be careful--- they can make you sleepy!
