I've Been Diagnosed With COPD
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have read lots of things on here regarding COPD, most of which telling me not to smoke. I'm a 68 year old woman and have never smoked, never even held a cigarette, but still diagnosed with COPD. About ten years ago, the health professionals told me I had Asthma, now it's COPD. What id' like to know is how to deal with this mucus I have in my throat and chest. It's ruining my quality of life! If you have found some respite from this condition, I'd be grateful if you could let me know… read more

You may need to be on steroids for the mucus. I have to take steroids from time to time for the same thing. I have had asthma for a long time and was diagnosed with COPD a few years ago. I have never smoked and no one in my family has ever smoked. The Dr. told me it was from my asthma. The key is to stay on you medication and inhalers exactly like you are suppose to. Also, you should have a pneumonia shot. I am 52 years old. I hope this information helps.

Hi Queeny, I live in the UK and I've never heard of breathing tea. I'll try our Health Store (Holland & Barratt) in my Town Centre and give it a go. If it's available in the UK, Holland & Barratt will stock it. Thanks for that tip.

I never smoked either. I have had asthma for years then was diagnosed with COPD. Mucinex is recommended for mucus. Good luck and God Bless
