If you're asking whether COPD can contribute to confusion and an inability think clearly, make decisions, etc. the answer is yes. Oxygen deprivation, not getting enough O2 to the brain and other vital parts of the body can lead to confusion, fuzzy thinking and brain damage. CO2 retention, which is another thing that COPD sometimes causes can also lead to confusion, fuzzy thinking, inability to make decisions, etc. It's the lack of O2 or the excess of CO2 that can be caused by COPD that can result in "foggy brains"
That said, there are many, many other things that can also cause "foggy brain", so I'd suggest that you start with your pulmonologist and go from there.
Dianne I get foggy brain when I am dehydrated or my electrolytes are messed up.
Oh Snap. I have a theory about this too. Lack Of Oxygen To The Brain.
We breathe in the oxygen, to gets into Our blood stream and goes all around distributing the oxygen cells to the places needed most. By the time it gets to My head, (I'll speak for Myself, Ya'll could be different), here's not enough oxygen left to do that much good so I find Myself walking into a room and forgetting where I'm at. haha, I'm joking. I am foggy though, trying to remember things doesn't come as easy as it did. Does this help? :)
I get foggy brain when I don't drink enough. Have started drinking water so not too bad now. Thanks for explaining to me.😊 xxx
