Musinex and lots of water! The more you drink, the thinner the mucous. A DM cough syrup can help with the cough. A coughing technique called the huff cough is often helpful. There are also percussion devices you can get, some help some people. Postural drainage works sometimes. You can also talk with your doc about daliresp, a pill you take that reduces the inflammation and thus the mucous. You could also talk with your doc about prophylactic antibiotics; the one most used and studied is azithromycin taken three times a day or every day, depending. If you doc doesn't know about either of these newer treatments, find one who does.

Musinex is great. Lots of water. You're getting good advice. You can also have someone do cupping. Lay on your stomach and the other person will cup their hands and gently pound on your back. It really helps. My pulmo Dr. Had us do that. Hubby and I. Breathe better, hugs

It is wintertime, so your home may be dry thickening the phlegm in your throat or get a good humidifier and use it but keep it clean. Other causes is not enough fluids or drinking milk as milk will thicken your phlegm. I sometimes wake up with thick stuff and I will put a warm compress over my nose/mouth to help loosen it. Hope some of this will help!
