First person i saw with RLS was Elvis......Sorry could/nt help myself......Carry on..... SMILE
RLS is generally a lifelong condition for which there is no cure. Nevertheless, current therapies can control the disorder, minimizing symptoms and increasing periods of restful sleep. Symptoms may gradually worsen with age, although the decline may be somewhat faster for individuals who also suffer from an associated medical condition.
Gabapentin enacarbil, which metabolizes in the body to become Gabapentin, for the treatment of moderate to severe RLS.
Benzodiazepines can help individuals who have mild or intermittent symptoms obtain a more restful sleep. However, even if taken only at bedtime they can sometimes cause daytime sleepiness. Benzodiazepines such as clonazepam and diazepam are generally prescribed to treat anxiety, muscle spasms, and insomnia. Because these drugs also may induce or aggravate sleep apnea in some cases, they should not be used in people with this condition.
The Relaxis pad, which the person can place at the site of discomfort when in bed and provides 30 minutes of vibrations (counterstimulation) that ramp off after 30 minutes.
Ropinirole, Pramipexole, and Rotigotine to treat moderate to severe RLS. Both drugs are generally well tolerated but can cause nausea, dizziness, or other side effects. Good short-term results of treatment with Levodopa plus Carbidopa have been reported.
NOW GO SEE SPECIALIST or GP.....
I am in Colorado which is one state that legally dispenses MMJ as well as recreational too. I carry an MMJ card but find no need for it. I infuse it with Grapeseed oil to use in cooking...That is the farthest I go with it....It helps me sleep at times.....I am not sure about MJ being a gateway drug for those I know on MJ do other drugs too....MJ has created a billion dollar income just here in Colorado so the state is making out really good....
RLS to me is a vibrating humming tidal wave going from my thigh to my ankles, just a constant urge to have to move my legs to stop it...I have tried to ignore it, but my legs would put out one final strike like a lightening movement shooting to my knees....You cannot go to sleep with this happening...It does not stop, it just keeps going...I am no expert, but I don't think leg spasms and jerking would be in that group, but I am sure as irritating...I do get leg cramps and they to me are in no way the same as RLS...At this point, I would welcome some leg cramps and jerking legs...LOL...breathe easy!
Hi....I know the doctors in the US have been told not to prescribe Opiate Pain Meds unless as a last resort..It is to do with the huge problem over there with Prescription Drugs.....To stop the abuse they have thrown out the baby with the bath water.....Same with Med.MJ....This continued notion that Marijuana is a gateway drug is always bought up, yet there are no recorded deaths from it's use alone....What they fail to tell you, that if someones dies, besides traces of MJ in their system, there is also a concoction of other drugs..but guess which one is blamed Ha..
