Breathing Spells At Night In Bed

I have the urge to get air out of my lungs almost every night. I keep expelling the air out of my lung. It really scares me.. I have done it so many times it made my lung feel raw and I couldn't even smell dish detergent. I wish there was somebody here that could identify with that. Breath Easy

Thanks, I am waiting to see a COPD Dr. since I am newly diagnosed. I told my M.D. and he didn't seem to know.

Hi Pam have you had a sleep study done? Sounds like you may need a cpap (spl) I am assuming you have discussed this with your pulmonary Dr if you have not please do so ASAP. Nothing to mess with. Keep me posted. I will check in my COPD group called EFFORTS for you also.

No clue on this one. I did add 4" bricks under the head of my bed to raise it so that I sleep on a slant, and that has resolved many (not all) of my night-time congestion issues.

I agree with @A MyCOPDTeam Member that it may be time for a sleep study.

The exhaustion that goes long with COPD is so aggravating. Hope you find some relief soon.
