Harmonica Therapy
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have any of you who are in Pulmonary rehabilitation (or have already been) participated in harmonica therapy as part of your program? If you did do you think it was helpful?

It's used successfully in many PR programs and Better Breathers groups. It helps with breath control.

Hey, @A MyCOPDTeam Member - we discussed harmonica training in last month's better breathers class, and then we did evercises this month with party favor harmonicas, LOL. Your topic is changing better breathers groups one class at a time, LOL.

Soundz really interesting, I haven't had my pulmonary rehab appointment yet... Still waiting but I might mention it. I also go to a breathe easy support group so I might ask there as well. That another week away though.. Thank you

@A MyCOPDTeam Member, Please don't be afraid. You can add extensions to your tube and move throughout your house normally. Without it, I couldn't do the smallest household task, but now I can cook simple dishes, handle the laundry, make the bed (slowly), work in the office, and -- most important -- walk on my treadmill and do exercises on my yoga mat. In the olden days, 24/7 oxygen was withheld until near the end, but now they know our entire body benefits for supplemental oxygen. Don't think of it as a leash; think of it as a life line! You can guy an oximeter at any derug store and monitor your own oxygen and heart rate. The more you learn about your condition, the better you can live!
