This article discusses some legitimate stem cell research that will have implications for COPD patients, and maybe in the not so distant future!
I'm not promoting any of the current stem cell treatments that are being offered to people today. You'll notice that Flicker quoted my usual answer to questions about stem cell treatments verbatim as the first answer. This article is about something completely different, it is legitimate and has distinct promise. I wanted people to see that legitimate research is being done with stem cells, and this one really does have promise. The authors are legitimate scientists, UCLA is a reputable scientific research institute, and it has to do with regenerative medicine which has the most promise for stem cells. Read the article; it's for real!
Flicker is right! stem cell treatments do not work. I have had COPD for 10 yrs, I would gladly do the treatments if they did anything to help with COPD. But they don't. Hoping they find something in the near future for us all. Peace be with you all.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member, @A MyCOPDTeam Member - Echoing what I have been trying to communicate for a long while here. It just keeps creeping up over and over again. I understand that people who are dealing with this condition are desperate for any hope or miracle but we must be aware also of the "snake oil" salesmen that hoover on the sidelines and are longing for your hard earned money.
I heard it is happening in switzerland but it is far from successful Dorothy Hartlepool UK
@A MyCOPDTeam Member - Thanks for elaborating on your original message. And you are correct in saying that true research is going on. I suppose our reaction to mention the current "research" that is available is as much to provide new members with the alternative they will surely encounter is not yet finalized. No correction to your post intended, nor needed. Thanks for posting.
