I have had COPD for 6 years now , mostly maintained at moderate level. Just recently , I have started having dizzy spells. Someone told me that this is not uncommon as the disease progresses.
Have others experienced this too and what do you do to prevent, or get relief from them?
You need to find out why you're having the dizzy spells. Being dizzy is a symptom of many different things, some simple and easy to fix; others are a lot more complicated. I've had COPD since 1985 and I've never had dizzy spells nor have I ever heard that they are common in COPD patients. I think you need to see your doc!

My health team all agreed that I needed my O2 l/min. raised 1 liter. It worked.
Low blood pressure is the main cause, I get it myself and that is what I was told, need to stand up slowly on those dizzy days, and I always sit for a few seconds when getting out of bed. slowly get up and hold on to chair till you feel it pass.
Yes it is lack of oxygen I had the same dizzy spells .i have oxygen only at night but it took care of the dizzy spells
