I have been diagnosed with a chest infection and suffering from COPD. The doctor is treating me with steroids and antibiotics. I was due to fly to France tomorrow on a long deserved holiday. My Doctor has strongly advised against me flying due to the risk of decompensating in mid air. Has anyone else suffered this but I now can't fly as my insurance is now void.. I'm so sorry disappointed as was really looking forward to the break..
Hi, i take a annual trip to Dubai where my daughter and family live , i always go to the doc few days before flying to get the all clear LUCKILY , i have been ok so far and not on Oxygen at the mo .. i do get presciribed Anti biotics aswell just be be on safe side incase of chest infection when out there , i always dread the day they say i shouldn't do it anymore .... hope you are feeling better xx
From Great Britain to France what a nice time of year. Please wait until you are well since the stuff we get can really get a lot worse if not taken care of.
With an illness that requires both an antibiotic and prednisone, I wouldn't try a long trip like the one to France. I might try a shorter flight, but even then, you run a risk that something in your lungs will go bad wrong. Not what you want to happen in an airplane!
