I love my POC, use it whenever I go out. I still need to rest when I walk home from the grocery store, but that's ok as my recovery time is short. Since I don't drive and I live alone, the important thing for me is to take my time and set attainable goals each day. My POC delivers a pulse of oxygen whenever the units senses me inhaling.
I have an Inogen 3 as well and love it beats carrying tanks aground and I got the extended battery and get 6 hours. It is only pulse so have to get use to it but can't do without it now. It has given me the freedom to get out and enjoy life
used my machine for about 7 hours today all and all at once it said machine hot and quit putting out air good thing i was almost home when it happend
I bought the Inogen One 4 unit for outdoors. So far it's been very handy and allowed me to shop in the stores a little longer if I choose. It's very pricey and Medicare will not pay for it, but my secondary will. It's lightweight and easy to handle. I also have the one that Medicare supplies for free. It's heavier and a bit more cumbersome, yet it gives me the same performance as the Inogen. I can't exert my self with either one though. One more thing - the Inogen unit will only go up to 3 Liters, while the Medicare one will go to 5 or 6.
I have an Inogen 1 it weights about 5 pounds, has a shoulder strap and provides up to 3 LPM. Battery lasts about 3 hrs on setting of 2, comes with car plug and electric plug, charges while in use. If you are going to use it walking around a lot newer model only weighs about 2.5 lbs. Medicare pays for the Inogen 1 ,but I don't think they will pay for the newest one yet. Even if I had to buy one myself I would. I really don't use the portable one much, I have the larger machine upstairs for bedtime, but do take the portable when I travel or use it when I feel short of breath during day.
