When I first applied for SSI, I was turned down. So, I appealed the decision and had my doctor write a letter and was approved. It was only three months before I was approved. I would have your doctor or doctors write a letter explaining your condition and what your needs are. Also, I would have people that you know who know of your condition and have them state what your limitations are. That really helps. If you get turned down, just be persistant and do not let them turn you down. My husband was approved for SSDI after our doctor wrote a letter (he took him off work for the rest of his life) Good luck to you, prayers going your way to get the help you need. Take care and breathe easy.
I was approved on initial application. I didn't have really good records so they sent me to their Pulmonologist.
ODSP is Ontario Disability Support Program. I live in Toronto Ontario Canada
I started in 2010, claim was denied 2 or 3 times even tho my FEV was low enough. Finally got approved 5 years later after a federal appeal. Good luck.
