Helpful Vitamins/Supplements
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello all! Was wondering if any of you take daily vitamins and/or supplements that possibly help at all with breathing easier and just with symptoms in general? If so- how MUCH do you take daily? It’s very hard to find information on dosage and what actually helps online. So far I keep seeing things about:

d3, k2, b12, a, e, c, zinc, magnesium, NAC, coq10, fish oil, rso oil, and apple cider vinegar.

Also apparently sipping on osha root and/or ginger tea throughout the day as it can help thin… read more

@A MyCOPDTeam Member.....for coughing I would keep Ginger mints (altoids makes them you can order them online) there perhaps may be another one....I use tumeric powder with sliced lemons and ginger powder (all in the seasoning section at the grocery or pharmacy)...mix 1 tsp of each and squeeze the lemons in...put in a tsp of honey. I stay away from all carbonated drinks.....and I keep the apple cider vinegar mixed in the refrigerator with lemon, honey and more tumeric. It will keep and you can warm it and add it to tea (hot) or sip it cold or by the tablespoons. You might want to invest in a humidifier to put moisture in the air and keep your fathers lungs (especially his nasal passages) from drying out. It will help with skin and his nose.... Be very careful in changing the filtration system and the water as it can get mold very quickly which will throw he and your Mom back into the hospital. I know you probably think there is some wonder drug, but there really isn't. The only miracle I know of is above us...and God is on call 24/7....So please reach out to him...nothing is impossible with him.. I also would get him some CBD oil....go online to Charlottes Web....order the chocolate mint...It will help keep him calm. Other than that, all I can do is continue to pray for you and your parents. Prayers to you all. Take care of yourself...you have to live after all is said and done. Be blessed.

As far as I know none of the vitamins or supplements have any direct effect on breathing. They do help with some of the effects of aging, which can be greater on people with COPD than with others.
