Low O2 saturation levels, no matter when they occur, will eventually cause right heart failure and brain damage. You don't want either! If O2 has been prescribed, be sure to use it. If you don't have an oximeter, get one so you can keep track of what your saturation levels are with varying activities. The harder you work, the more O2 you need, so don't be afraid to turn the O2 up to keep your sats where they need to be.
I hope this clarifies things!
The hypoxia is a result of your COPD. COPD causes hypoxia. So it's the other way around: how does your COPD influence your hypoxia? Hypoxia is the clinical way of saying that your O2 saturation levels are below normal, usually causing shortness of breath.
Thank you Jean
Think I know less now then before I started reading this post .....LOL
Sorry Jean I should have thanked you for your reply and explanation I'm confused about the Hypoxia in particular when I get some sleep if there is low oxygen level would this or could this cause low blood flow to brain in turn may cause other effects thanks for your patience
