I started using fragrant free detergent and softener. It seems to help. I picked a shirt that had been in the closet for sometime and wore it. It bothered me all day. It's also easier to do the laundry without all the scents.
Hi Wolfhorse, getting rid of the Febreeze plug ins has helped and I am breathing better. Thank you for asking, hope you are doing well. I will look for the Fresh Wave, have pets too.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member: Febreeze is just what tipped me and a friend (w/COPD, too) in the hospital! I can’t inhale around it. It just might be a trigger for you, too. xo
I use Tide free and Downy free. They work well. It took me years to realize to try it. Oh me!
we got a a air cleaning machine has a funny odor to it, so we turn it on at nite when we go to bed, cleans the air in the whole house, really keeps down the daily dog dander, dust mites, dust and comtaims that happen during the day, works really well, a lot of people run theres all the time, and I guess if you get use to the intimal odor that's last about two hrs when you first turn it on, it would be great, bt I haven't gotten to that point yet
I hope you’re feeling better without air additives @A MyCOPDTeam Member! Still, oddly enough, one was recommended to me for odors in my hallway: Fresh Wave odor removing spray (non-aerasol). Non-toxic and got rid of an animal smell. :)
