Safety With Oxygen

We all learn right away about tripping over our tubing AND how the tubing can get stuck under furniture and catch on things

Most of us have figured out how to be as safe as we can in the shower...carefully wearing cannula backwards and over the shower rod is one popular method. Adding non slip stickers to tub and or a bath chair.

Can we talk about the risk of flammability
I don't go near lit candles or bbq's, nor would I use a gas stove if I had one. I use electric but still, a SPARK isโ€ฆ read more

I have had no bad experiences with open flames and my use of oxygen.
Barbeques, we call them Braais, are quite common in my part of the country, which is great social event and many people still light up their cigarettes around the barbecue.
We have many power failures and candles or lamps are always around. In fact I have to do most of the lighting up of the candles.
I am aware of the possible danger and take care, which may be why I have not had any bad experiences.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member..wow are you on o2 24.7? I had no idea. So sorry. you can use your curling iron just put the cannula cord in front rather than on your head. It won't hurt. I think they list every single thing that has happened in the world on all of these contraptions and medications...We have to learn what we can do....my understanding is just no open flames.....I wish they would use real COPD patients on these blasted commercials...I'm sick of these people looking wonderful walking golfing and shopping in the produce section..You know they are not really patients....Blessings my dear. Praying for you.
