I just started NAC this week. Haven’t noticed anything so far.
So after my appointment yesterday the consultant say there is slight changes and he can’t rule out emphysema. I am hoping that if it is emphysema then it is mild, after a week of crying and being upset I’m determined to now not let this get me down. Im also trying not to google as some of the sites that come up just aren’t helpful. I know everyone is different etc but I was wondering who is in the mild stages and how long have you had mild emphysema for?
Thank you Jean! You are a "breath" of air to me. You explain things so well. In fact, I'm relieved to read your post on mild emphysema which I have. I probably have had it longer, but, I found out 3… read more

I went for the second time to my indifferent pulmonologist, his technicien who took the PFT I believe did me wrong when he gave me the inhaler (1 puff) and waited less than two minutes to continue the test. I told the doc prior to taking the PFT that I just experience a flare up due to inhaling dust in my backyard, he brushed it off and asked me to do the PFT anyway which came not as good as the last one taking a year ago. Immidiately he prescribed Trelegy for me and albutrol even before looking… read more

Hello everyone!
I would like to ask if anyone has trouble sleeping, because I do. I don't know if it is the albutrol although I onlu use once a day before bedtime, or is it just me thinking too much about my emphesyma and what the futur holds and adjusting to the new reality. Should I ask my doc for some sleep pills, is anyone using them?
Thanks to all
Have a wonderful day everyone

I have been reading about the importance of vitamin D in particular and vitamin C. My husband, who has a different pulmonary doctor than I do was prescribed a high dose of vitamin D and it comes as a prescription. My doctor has not prescribed it for me. I will talk to my doctor about it next time I go, but I wondered if any or all of you guys were also taking vitamin D as it is supposed to be good for lung function and excaberation prevention. If you are taking it......how much?
THANKS Doris! Sounds like our Drs. are on the same page
