Costochondritis & Copd
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have 'severe" COPD, I also have been previously diagnosed with Costochondritis. The Costo lasted for a few painful months before subsidizing and I wrongfully assumed I was done with it...Currently I'm experiencing and terrible flare up. I'm wondering if the COPD might be causing the flare up? Anyone else ever dealt with this?

Costochondritus is a chronic inflammatory disease, as is COPD. While one probably doesn't necessarily cause the other, I suspect that they might very well go hand in hand and irritate each other. If you're having issues with one inflammatory disease, it's not unusual to have issues with another. I would definitely check with my pulmonologist to be sure that you're doing everything to help yourself with this bout of it.

I rely on May clinic information to answer some of my questions then follow up with the doc. Here's the site link that might help you https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/...
