Himalayan Salt Pipe
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I recently read an article on the use and benefits of the Himalayan salt pipe. Was wondering if anyone has tried this and was it beneficial. What were the pro's and con's of this . Any feed back positive or negative is greatly appreciated!

@A MyCOPDTeam Member Do a search for respiratory devices for copd, there are quite a few available... You must not use them if you have a right side heart problem.....they are for helping to bring mucous up ... ☺️🍀

I use a flutter too, works well as part of general routine, and to shift stubborn muc. I think the salt is more to help prevent throat infection, which is a risk with some inhalers. Salt water mouth rinse and gargle good too, though some people don't like it...☺️🍀

@A MyCOPDTeam Member yes, no side effects beyond a little dryness. Not as drying as most inhalers. No miracle though, you must understand.....☺️🍀

There are people who swear by them, and others who think it's so much hooey. The people who believe are also people who feel that they breathe better at the beach because of the salt air. For those who do have a positive reaction, it's only while you're there and in the presence of the salt air; it doesn't stay with you and is gone as soon as you leave the area.

Hi to all...I have 3 large salt lamps in my home. And feel like they help. Very calming glow at.night too.

Have read about salt room therapy. They have one in Scottsdale, not far from me, but haven’t tried it—a bit pricey.

I did try a salt inhaler, but didn’t really see any improvement from it.

If I start coughing when out and about, I’ll drive through a fast food and get some fries and salt them, and it actually helps.

That could just be that I love French fries😂
