Generally protein and veggies, fruits, few carbs work well for people who are having exacerbations, and pneumonia is definitely one of those! My advice, stay away from the carbs and go fro protein, veggies and fruit.

I had stem cell therapy and they gave me a little cookbook with a list of the foods I should eat. Basically tons of vegetables, those with very dark colors, only berries, not any other fruit, some nuts, organic, pastured meats, fish, etc. Absolutely no sugar or dairy. Both cause inflammation in the body and lots of mucous. Drink water with organic lemons squeezed into it first thing in the morning and then throughout the day. Up your Vitamin D levels, take curcumin for lung health. Use a Himalayan salt inhaler. That will cut down on inflammation in the lungs and can kill bacteria, as well.
