Why do i need to stay in azithrimycin antibiotics are they harming my other organs like liver kidneys

I was on 250 mg for almost 18 months. Got so much better, now I'm to take it I've had to up my Alvesco to 6 inhalation per day. Always seems to get that inflammation under control.

It depends on why you're on the antibiotics. It sounds like you need to have a good discussion with your doc to know what the point is. There is a treatment plan designed specifically to help people who have frequent axacerbations that involves taking azithromycin three times a week. This reduces exacerbations and hospitalizations and increases quality of life. Taking a med called daliresp does much the same thing. Taking azithromycin three times a week has been studied for over 10 years and at this point there are few reasons not to continue to take it. Again, talk with your doc and be sure you understand why you're taking it and what it's supposed to do.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member that is a good question. I know I am not. Part of the reason is so I don't get to where the antibiotic does not work anymore. I would be checking around and asking your Pulmonary Dr. more about it.
