lung infection somewhat rare.
God Bless you
Ocean thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm sticking with the drug regimen for now, of course there is no other choice. Life is usually easy but sometimes it can be a bit--.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member I have had MAC twice and each time it was hard to handle due to the drugs necessary to cure the infection. Do not go off the drugs early because the infection can come back. My doctor told me if I get it again there may be nothing that will help and I will probably die. No certain idea where it comes from or how you get it or so says my doctor. It can exist in air, soil and water. One thing I did do is clean my shower head do to hard water and possible germs in it. I use gloves when I get in dirt and don't go out if it is real windy because of dust blowing around. Good luck and be patient.
Thank you Jean. I am on 3 different antibiotics. Yes it is brutal two months now and no end in sight.
Many people deal with MAC; I have several friends who've had it or have it now. It's rare(ish), but certainly not unheard of. Usually the treatment is over a year of three different antibiotics. The treatment can be pretty brutal, but it usually works. I would suggest that you find a support group for MAC by googling "MAC support groups".. You will want factual information from people who know what you're talking about.
