Oxygen Using Humidifier Seems To Lower O2 %
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Been looking at my Oxygen % on oxymeter and noticed when i'm on home unit with water i seem to have a lower O2 Level. So i took water off and watched my oxygen levels . Definitely went up 2 % or more without water. Looks like feeding the oxygen through the water bottle pulls some oxygen out of the flow. Btw i'm on 6 liters.

You can use the water bottle tube with the main tube cut so thst the oxygen coming out only aereates the top of the water. You will still get some moisture just not as much as the tube going to the bottom and pushing oxygen all the up through the water.

U have COPD? 6Liters on your oxygen? Wow. That seems really high. I'm on 3 on oxygen. On 24/7. I have never heard of a oxygen machine having a humidifier in it. Or you mean having a humidifier seperate? I was thinking of getting one, but I don't think I will now after reading that. Thanks that was helpful. Take other medications? One day at a time.☺️

Thanks .. makes sense . Of course the infamous 'they' tell you that any flow over 4 needs water .. the water bottle input injects the air from the bottom so it bubbles up through and out the top . I cut the intake tube so it does not go into the water but blows down on the surface . This gives me some humidity so we'll see ..

That is very helpful info ... I have wondered if I needed the water because of slight nose blood ... I ordered the container but haven’t attached yet because the little bit of blood stopped.
So...if I should need the moisture I can monitor oxygen level!
Thank you!!!
