Daliresp is a pill that is designed to help reduce inflammation in the lungs and therefore reduce exacerbations. Educated docs prescribe a month of 250 mg doses and then advance to the full 500 mg dosage. This reduces some of the digestive tract side effects some people have with the med and helps people become comfortable with it. If your doc hasn't done that, talk with them about reducing the initial dosage, or go ahead and start it and if you have problems stop taking it and talk with them at that point. Most people don't have problems so don't anticipate them, but if they occur, you know that there's help. It works really well for people who don't have side effects or who can work through the side effects with their doc's help. People have gone from being hospitalized six or eight times a year with bad exacerbations to none or just one or two in 12 months. It gives you a chance to get completely well and be able to exercise, get stronger and live a more active life.

My husband and I both take daliresp. I really think it has made a great difference in our health. I have not had an exacerbation in almost 2 years. I have gone from being on oxygen 24/7 to no oxygen and I am feeling pretty good. I take one daliresp daily and use a Trelegy inhaler. I am maintaining and no longer have shortness of breath and (knock on wood) no exacerbations.

My husband and I both think that the dailresp was instrumental in turning us around. After I began taking it I slowly began to get better. I wish you good luck with it. I did have some diarrhea with it for the first few weeks, but that eventually stopped......no problems at all now. I started with the low dose as Jean said and moved up to the 500mg. It is one of the more expensive medicines I take but insurance pays most of the cost. It is worth it.

I've also been on it since 12/20 no hospitalizations since being on it....my pulmonologist says it's what's kept me out of hospital!!!!!!

Question for anyone on Trelegy after the first day of use did anyone experience increased shortness of breath or headache or both? If so did they subside after couple weeks like they suggest after med gets to maintenance dose in your system? I'll be watching for your responses!!!!! Thank you....Happy Holidays.....

Just started a few weeks ago at 250mg. Diarrhea, a little insomnia and thoughts of the great beyond are the possible side effects and I had them all but that is over. I have begun to feel a bit better and have reduced my O2 setting from 3 liters to 1.5.
Before Daliresp I could not walk 15 feet without gasping for air even with O2. Now I can do that walk without discomfort. Hope it works for you.
