Does anyone know if COPD causes legs to be tired?
COPD does not cause the legs to be tired. However, severe de-conditioning caused by lack of exercise that often accompanies COPD certainly can. The fix is to talk with your doc about a daily exercise routine. Even the most severely de-conditioned can improve their situation starting with exercises to build strength in the legs and lower body that can be done in a chair. Exercises designed to strengthen the lower, upper and core muscle groups can be seen if you google "chair exercises" and follow the directions. Once you've added some strength, especially to the lower body, you can begin to walk (aerobic exercise) slowly and building your endurance and stamina. Exercise can make a big difference in how good you feel, the number of "good" days you have, what you can continue to do for yourself and how long you live. It takes effort, determination and discipline, but it's well worth it.
Hello Jean: Just read you posting about legs being tired. Just want to say I am so happy to be on your team Thanks you for all you do. Please stay safe and have a good day.
Sometimes I feel like my legs are dizzy, sounds crazy, but weak maybe a better term
I get swelling in my legs. My swelling is caused by water retention and my Cardio Dr. and I keep it under control by having a salt free diet and wearing support stockings. Salt and heart disease can be a real pain in the a--.I have had restless leg problems from time to time (mostly at night when in bed). But I don't think any of these problems are a directly caused by COPD. Tired legs could be caused due to us getting less exersize now due to breathing problems.
I have the opposite. I have restless leg syndrome and swelling in my feet and my ankles
