We're you given antibiotics and steroids? If so is the pain from coughing? If it is you might what to talk to your doctor about an chest X ray , I had that happen an I had fractured three ribs from coughing. Hope you feel better soon you might try to drink hot tea and honey. It aways makes me feel better. God Bless you.

If the pain lingers like your, you really should see your doc. If you don't have a pulmonologist, you need to find one. It sounds as though you have more than just a standard exacerbation and may need additional treatment.
