Nebulizer Use
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi,

Recently diagnosed with emphysema.

I am going to start using a nebulizer, can anyone who uses one of these let me know which substances you use in yours and how effective they think they are?
Also - can you mix chemicals in them or use them one at a time?

Thanks

@A MyCOPDTeam Member - My doctor took me off of the nebulizer med. Now I use saline and I like it.

Another consideration that I forgot is that nebulized meds are covered under part B of Medicare, reducing the cost of the medication unless you're responsible for the Part B deductible (which isn't a lot; under $200 for the year). If you take a lot of nebulized meds this can be a major cost savings.
