i enjoy reading all articles and facts about copd and to hear how other people deal with copd . i find a lot of these articles and stories helpful . however i think this group should be pushing our government to invest money for research in order to find a cure . we all tell our stories and read articles that my be helpful but it is kind of like a bandage to our disease . i think this organization should be doing like the LUNG FOUNDATION AUSTRALIA proposing that their government… read more
The COPD Foundation, along with the ALA and a number of other groups have a lot invested in research, along with the NIH and the CDC. The Foundation had it's Hill day a month and a half or so ago, and I spoke with six legislators about Liquid O2 access for people who need it, for RTs to be able to bill for their services in virtual PR programs and for money for the NIH and the CDC. We asked them to support over $100 million in research for COPD. The asks are there, and the Foundation is supporting these efforts. I don't know that this particular board is geared for anything other than patient support, but there certainly are advocacy organizations out there you can join and be part of.
