Is Morphine A USUAL Treatment For Severe COPD?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Oxygen is not being considered by public health respiroligist because it can be addictive but morphine is to trick brain that I am not feeling very short of breath. I can walk comfortably for 4- 5 minutes, blood oxygen is usually 95- 96 at rest, but drops into mid to low 80's when walk further or doing housework.

Well, it's not a good idea to use more oxygen than needed, the diaphragm can get lazy... So I think that's what the geezer is hinting at. @A MyCOPDTeam Member, slow down a bit...try to keep your level above 88%. The whole point of oxygen therapy is to support your muscles and other organs. I would recommend pulmonary rehabilitation, to restore some level of fitness.
