The medication names and formulations differ in medicine brands from country to country. You should report any ineffectiveness or changes in Respiratory symptoms to your Physician.

It depends on what you're talking about as a "reliever". Some of our inhalers are designed to be maintenance medications: we take them in an effort to not lose any lung function. They need to be taken every day, and are not intended to give you any instant relief (there are a few, like symbicort, that most people get a boost from), but most of them get you to a point and then maintain it and you don't feel a thing until you stop taking it altogether. The other type of medication as generally called a rescue inhaler and that usually does give you a noticeable boost when you take it. Unfortunately, those of us who have little to no asthma component to our disease don't get much, if any relief, from these inhalers. Talk with your doc to see if either of these things make a difference. You'll need to see a pulmonologist, not your PCP to get a definitive and educated answer.
