Bless your heart! SHE knew who to butter up!😁 @A MyCOPDTeam Member
Dave, there have been several in this Forum who experienced the procedure but few report back on any outcome or progress.
It is a very personal decision and not an option available to all. There is a real sense of brutal honesty in just considering all the medical requirements and whether it will be a benefit (or not) to you. See here:

Commit yourself to getting factual information, not opinions. Be well.
Not a German shepherd... Just a little dog , took her in off the streets actually she kinda chose me too .
Thank you for your concern and input, I have been recommended by my pulmonologist for a transplant it is certainly a conflicting decision to make being I qualify for one. Alot on my plate right now....
I've known a number of people who've had transplants, both single and double lung. All of them said they absolutely would have done it again, but everyone acknowledges that they essentially traded their old lungs with all those problems for a whole new set of problems.....but LIFE was worth it. If you're considering a TX, please understand that you must be evaluated at a medical center that does the procedure and then you go on a list if you're eligible and wait. I'd find a center and then get evaluated. It will be the most thorough exam you'll ever have and may take several days. If you ask lots of questions, you'll learn a whole lot about your COPD and yourself in general. Besides being a thorough physical exam, they will examine your financial resources, emotional, psychological, family and your potential care-givers. Even if you don't make the cut for the list, it will probably be worth it to have all that knowledge.
