I Need To Buy A Home Concentrator And Wonder If Anyone Has The Inogen At Home Unit And The Good And Bad Points About It?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is there one you like better? I will be moving to an apartment and want something reliable that isn't too loud.

Thanks

Do you want a stationary concentrator or a portable one? Inogen makes both. Their stationary concentrator is quiet and goes to 5 LPM, but uses a good deal of electricity. The Inogen G5 is a Portable 02 Concentrator, but only goes to 1.26 LPM and is pulse dose only. Know and understand the differences and if you choose to buy a POC make sure you can try it out under every circumstance you can think of to be sure that it meets your O2 requirements. Otherwise you've bought a very expensive doorstop.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member, I have a unit that is the same as a Inogen G5, the only difference is the name, its called a OXYGO Next and the good points is it preforms as advertised, I have been using the OXYGO for several years and I purchased my first one not long after Inogen started the new brand and when it needed new sieve columns and some minor repairs I ordered a new one and that was a few years ago, thats when the OXYGO Next was first introduced and I git that model. They started phasing out the model that I first purchased and they added a couple new features to the OXYGO Next, such as wifi app to view status and a USB port for troubleshooting, also 6 settings instead of 5 that is on the older version, also the OXYGO Next is a bit lighter and physically smaller. Because I live in a isolated area we don't have a medical supply service close, so my POC's get used way more than you will likely use yours and when traveling they get used as the primary unit. On average mine get used a couple hours every day. Because my older unit has been discounted and some oarts are no longer available, I just purchased another unit, if I had been in any way disappointed in what I have I would have purchased a different brand/model. The double battery lasts more than 6 hours at setting 2 and although I have mine now set at level 3 it lasts several hours. I really don't know of any faults. I've used their warranty and customer service and can find no fault in that either. Now it could be that I'm easy to please, which I m not, or they got a good product which stands up to their advertised standards. The OXYGO Next is the exact same unit as the Inogen G5, even the batteries are interchangeable. So I would think that the Inogen G5 would also be a good purchase. I really don't know of the difference between them other than the name and as far as price difference I think they're priced similar. Hope this helps you out.

Wow thank you so much for all the great info. I know there are reviews online but I love that all of you here have experience and have used different models and it's just been great and I have learned more in the last few days. Thanks again 😃 And of course I meant buy, not but! Good luck fishing 🤞🏼
