The American Lung Association in conjunction with the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute are sponsoring a study called REACH (Recovery after Covid-19 Hospitalization). it will look at 1300 patients hospitalized with severe COVID-19 in 44 hospitals across the country. There's an additional study that's using artificial intelligence to scour 30,000 CT scans to see if any patterns can be seen that might help explain why people got so sick and why they are taking so long to recover.

I had a light case of COVID and pneumonia the first of the year. Only stayed in hospital from Sunday nite to Saturday. Not too bad. But, I am now on more oxygen than before as I get winded faster. I haven't been able to take my daily walk, due to the weather and I don't have a portable oxygen (darn it for comfort in case I need extra air.. I have gone to all my doctor appointments and the last one was my cardiologist. He said my lungs would take a little longer to get back to where I was. Hopefully that will be the case. I do miss walking the dog in the am and going grocery shopping with my daughter. I feel like "The Caged Bird" in the poem. I really do have cabin fever
Sorry, didn't mean to go on and on, but wanted you to know my own experience. I am hoping for all of us afflicted with COPD, and those recovering from COVID that must use inhalers, that our government will deal with the pharmaceutical companies to lower the inhaler price as they lowered the insulin cost for diabetics. It is really rough and I have insurance and pity those who do not. Example: Breztri is on the market for over $500 for a 30 day treatment without insurance. Wow. Oh well.
Thanks for listening (or reading).

Thanks for sharing. I am glad that studies like this are underway to help us understand and cope with long term covid impacts.

I got Covid right after the initial two shot vaccine. Very mild case and not hospitalized. I still have some of the symptoms like taste and smell still gone, episodes of brain fog and am always fatigued. That could also be COPD causing the latter symptoms. Regardless, glad I got the initial vaccine when I did because I really do think it kept me from getting real sick. That's my story.

I seemed to have logged into my late wife's account. Didn't know she had one. Will have to fix that

I don't believe I got covid and if I did; it was mild and I never tested.
