IF it is a machine of some sort to offer breathing relief they may be onto something. Those type of machines were used many years ago for other lung conditions and mostly Polio cures.

Laying enclosed in the machine, the room air would build up a pressure around the body - which helped deflate the chest on Exhales. Now, we use Pursed lip breathing and the "Flutter Tubes" to accomplish much of the same thing.
The common name of the machine is Iron Lung.
