What Happens In The Very End?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Nottingham, UK

I am 72 years old an Emphysema means I cannot even get from my bedroom to the bathroom, a distance of about ten yards, without being left gasping for breath and filled with the “can’t breathe”panic!
Obviously the end is near but tell me, will the doctors just leave me to fight for every breathe when the end comes? It is a vision of Hell!

I don't know what state of the art and best practices are for end stage COPD, but it's not what you're talking about. Talk with your doc and then talk with people who provide palliative care and hospice in your area to discuss your issues. There are definitely compassionate ways to do this and those folks are the experts.
