A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

My dad used to take xanex but it makes his dreams seem reality and is causing more problems. What do y’all take to help sleep? Thanks

Ativan is the most perscribed narcotic in the benzodiazepine line. Ativan is a brand name for Lorazepam. Emergency Rooms use Lorazepam because its fast acting and the mildest of the benzodiazepine line, but prolonged use of it will lead to addiction, so take it as directed, it is only available via prescription. After ingesting it, it takes about 15 to 25 minutes to take effect and lasts on average about 6 to 8 hours of peak effect but mild effect is about another 2 to 4 hours. They are mostly used as the second line of usage for anxiety, the first line is a different drug class (SSRI's) things like Prozac and take time of repeated use to get to full effect. For further information research it and talk to a pharmacist or a doctor.

I have narcolepsy and sleep apnea. To help regulate my sleep cycles, I'm prescribed baclofen.

For my anxiety, I take wellbutrin and buspar. They help so much.
