The best POC is the one that works for you. You don't want the lightest or the quietest, you want the one that provides enough 02 to meet your needs. There is no standardization in POCs. None of them provide more than 1.2 LPM. To see all the differences and understand that you need to know a lot in order to choose one that will be right for you, go to; www.runningonair.org/POCs You'll find the most complete explanation of how the machines work and what's important to know before you buy one, as well as a chart that lays out very carefully how each machine compares with others.
You asked a good question. There is an answer, but it's the one that's right for you, not for anyone else. For that you need information, both information about you as well as information about machines that their capability.
My POC goes up to 5 LPM and weighs only 6 lbs. All POCs deliver O2 on pulse rather than continuous flow. I recommend using the brand POC that your home O2 provider is contracted with so you can rent it through your insurance. That way you can get free maintenance, repairs and upgrade if necessary. Also, after your 5 year contract of renting the POC it becomes yours and you get to rent a new one. So now you have a backup POC.,
Great info again Jean, especially the link that makes it easy for everyone to figure out.
