Hi. I take my meds, try to abstain from smoking, try to keep moving as much as possible. I keep my inhalers with me at all times. I try to avoid being outside in full sun for extended periods of time and I try as much as i can to be in an air conditioned environment. I try to avoid getting upset or extremely angry because stress aggravates COPD and a lot of other health conditions. I try to follow the advice of my doctors and nurses. (I can not tell my nurses but I am so in love with them but most of them are married and I would never think of going there) The medical professionals that help me to survive and stay sane are so kind caring, and compassionate that I keep my appointments for my health's sake but also because I value the interaction with the wonderful people I encounter along the way. They dont realize that I gain strength and motivation to work on improving myself and moving forward in positive ways. The most important thing of all is to pray not just for myself but all of us who are sick and suffering without regard as to race, color, location, age, situation or location. I have never had to call back later or be told that HE is not in, on vacation or that HE cannot be disturbed. I believe that a way is being made so that medicine will advance and at some point, solutions will be found.
No smoking, daily exercise, weight control and good diet, take meds properly, stay involved with other people, talk with my pulmo ASAP if I get something respiratory. I'm also involved in a variety of research projects for COPD as well as some clinical studies. I have a family and enjoy my great-grandchildren and am active in my church. Keeps me busy and out of trouble!
I picked up a portable oxygen concentrator and try to excersize on an air bike using the oxygen .. it does help a lot... they say that if you excersize, that your lungs will thank you.. but I keep forgetting to take the time..
Not well medication and nothing else
Mot very well, no support, been lost in the system.
