Spirometer Test Results
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

How is it possible for x-rays to show possible çopd and when you do the lung function test the results are basically off the charts with fev1/fvc % being way over 100% mind blowing but I'm just grateful

The question is does whatever is seen in a CT scan or x-ray impact your breathing and how. That's why the PFT is the definitive diagnostic tool for COPD.

Thanks what the x-ray picked up was hyperinflation of the lungs possibly due to COPD/emphysema hence my sceptism when the PFT showed extremely good results and considering the weekend I had SOB and wheezing which just kinda comes on suddenly. I am also asthmatic

Different problems are seen in a chest X ray than a respiratory function test,ie inflammation of the lungs .
