COPD can cause weight loss and reduced function due to COPD wasting, which means the person is losing muscle mass12. Loss of appetite is the most common cause of weight loss for people with COPD, and can be the result of difficulty breathing1. Damaged lungs can burn as much as 10 times more calories than normal, healthy lungs, which can lead to unintentional weight loss even if you have a good appetite2. Sometimes the weight loss associated with COPD is caused by resulting mental health issues2.
This is what it said on Bing about weight loss and COPD. I hope that helps you understand a little more @A MyCOPDTeam Member. I did not know this either!

It certainly could be your COPD. COPD causes the lungs to extend and push into the diaphragm, which pushes into the stomach, leaving little room for food. Talk with your doc and see if you can't get a referral to a good nutritionist who can help you develop a series of small meals or snacks that will not fill you up, but give you enough calories to slow the weight loss. Many people find that six small meals rather than three big ones work best, and I know people who basically "graze" all day. Try any of these techniques and see if something doesn't work for you.

You know @A MyCOPDTeam Member there is a Boost Complete high calorie that has 360 calories and helps me put weight on, and I do maintenance using them once I have gained. NOT the extra high calorie that has over 500 calories that tastes like canola oil with some Hershey's syrup added to it...ugh The chocolate is delicious and they have a high fiber with high protein that is good too. I might have to always supplement to keep the weight on. 🙂

Hello @A MyCOPDTeam Member. That sounds like it should be a doctor's question. Do you have any of those protein drinks by you--like Boost or Ensure? I'd start out by drinking several of those a day, but call you doctor. The drinks won't help you gain any weight, but will replace some of the protein you may have lost. Good Luck!

I seem to eat all the time. Was told by the Rehab dietitian to eat about 5 very small meals a day. Thought I would starve to death, so I just eat when I want to now, and am still hungry. And it's not just a simple hunger. I get nauseous until I put something in my stomach. I'm 5'3, and weigh about 114. Not too bad.
