Does COPD cause (or make some food like bananas / cheese to cause) bloat and irritable guts?
I get bloated from my kidney disease, so I don't know if COPD plays a part in that or not. I just read the article attached to this and it's pretty good, although it doesn't say anything about irritable guts. However, there is a section at the end of the article where you can ask a question @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Sorry I can't be of more help, but that article is right under your name on this page listed as DIET AND COPD Read Article.... I didn't check out any of the secondary articles, so maybe they would have something about your irritable gut. Good luck!

Some people do have significant issues with bloating and other gastrointestinal problems that seem to be associated with COPD. I'm not sure that anyone knows exactly what causes these, but that doesn't make them any less problemmatic. I suggest that you find a gastroenterologist who will talk with your pulmonologist to see if they can agree on a treatment plan that will help you.
