I use 02 and I use my stove. You simply have to be aware of the cannula and where it is. Many of us wear it so it goes down our back instead of the front. That keeps it out of the way most of the time. If you can't keep track of where it is, then you probably shouldn't use the stove. Otherwise, just use your common sense and be aware.

I was in the hospital for 4 days with RSV infection and they brought a HUGE oxygen machine with 4 tanks of oxygen to my home when I was released. Luckily several days later my Inogen machine came and the monster one went up to the attic... in the mean time since I do have a gas stove I made good use of my Big toaster oven ( good for pizza ) and my microwave... If I do have to use my stove... like when baking things... I put the Inogen machine in the office and make sure it is turned off... so far so good..no fires or explosions... I was super cautious as a woman I worked with came home to see her entire apartment complex roaring in flames...apparently a resident was on oxygen and did not know it could blow up the entire apartment as well as the entire building... I think he jumped off the balcony to avoid burning to death in the flames... I was also given a big floreescent sign for my front door to warn guests there would be no smoking inside... luckily I only have one friend who smokes.. and she has no poblem stepping ouside for a smoke break... I quit smoking (2x)... and have no desire to smoke any more..I started smoking@ 14 and quit for the first time at 28... was clean for 16 years then took a puff ( ONE DAMN PUFF! ) and bam...another 14 years of smoking... it's
a real rugged withdrawal... I even thought of lockig myself in a Uhaul storage unit for at least the firrst 3 days...those were the worst...Iā€™d get so angry I wanted to bite filing cabinets. tables, chairs...sometimes I wanted to throw things at the walls...But from previous experience after the first three days those horrrendous cravngs and anger began to leasen and finally I was free.. Like all addictions, we con ourselves... just one drink, just one cigarette, just one more sleeping pill, etc... kmowig how hard t is to stop an addiction makes it easier (mentally) to just say NO!!!!!!!!!!!! anybody still trying to slay that dragon it is possible and you will suffer but trying to live a somewhat normal life with COPD is a tremedous price to pay for all those moments of smoking pleasure...

I have a gas stove so have purchased an induction hot plate which is much safer. I also use an electric grill and an air fryer.
