If it's something that happens regularly , it may be normal for you. Sometimes if people have quit smoking recently they cough up brown stuff. If it's something that doesn't always happens, it could be a sign that an exacerbation is on its way. You'll have to pay attention and see if you can begin to tell what it's a sign of so you can respond appropriately.
