Same here - runny nose in the morning, no coughing or phlegm. I take prescription Singular every morning so it's better by lunch then it's gone until the next morning. That and short of breath are the only signs of COPD I ever have. I used to wonder if I was misdiagnosed. I got a 2nd opinion and they agreed with COPD. I'm thankful those are the only symptoms I have. The shortness of breath has really made an impact on my social life. I've turned into a big home body, I love having company but I am more comfortable being at home. I have 2 senior dogs that I adore but it's getting harder to take care of them, i.e., medications they need every day, lotion or powder on places they scratch because of allergies. I don't know what I would do without them. I just do the best I can. That's all any of us can do.
I have year-round allergies that are miserable using a cannula, and didn't think I had any mucus. I thought I should try and learn the huff cough, and bring up mucus at leas 2 or 3 times a day now.
You know I take the Singulair at night and an OTC allergy med in the morning which I recently discovered makes a big difference when I ran out for a week. I had much more runny nose all day without it.
I’m earning shares in Kleenex I’m sure - permanent dripping nose. I remember my Gran, many years ago, walked around with hankies stuffed in her cardigan pockets to blow and wipe her nose. She died with COPD when I was 6 and although I was only a child I knew that she was ill. My job was to play solitaire with her, make tea for us and go down to the bakery next door and get a treat for each of us. I loved her dearly and hope she knew it just because I was there. BTW I’m an ace at Solitaire!
I have been doing the same thing here lately and actually it will come and go. Im thing its something in the house, maybe dust getting up my nose cause I will sneeze also. No cough.
