You can use your 02 in the shower. You can throw the hose over the shower curtain, or I just let it in the shower door and let the hose stay on the floor. Works just fine either way. That way you can have your 02 along with yur shampoo.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member you pretty much have to wear it all the time. Throw it over the shower bar, even put your shirt over your head, and then slip your cannula out from under and then back on. I find if I don't try to rush and I'm calm I can do most things for a short time with the 02 off. Yesterday my portable turned off bumping the car door and when I realized it was off I went into near panic. You might even try practicing some of these things and see your tolerance. I'll bet Jean has lots of tips and tricks because she has been dealing with COPD for years and years, on 02 and off, and always has something positive to share, even if it's not the answer you were hoping for. Maybe she'll jump in when she has time. Hope this helps a little.

I am on hospice and see them once a week, I did have PT, OT and ST at home and it seemed to help. I can walk now and talk and just take it slow. Thanks for your comments and concerns. I worked in a nursing home and the time before last I spent a month in there. Don't want to go back. Hope you are having a good day.

Using 02 when you need it most of the time is sometimes daunting, as I and many others have found over the years. Alice Rose has given you good advice; especially the advice about practicing what to do if your 02 gives out on you unexpectedly. I'll never forget trying to figure out how I was going to get from the taxi to the check-in at the hotel when my POC battery gave out way before it was supposed to. I turned out to be living just right, because the Lincare driver and I arrived at the same time and he fixed me up with a tank in the middle of the drive-way.....I haven't been that grateful in a long time! Planning ahead is really helpful and makes it easier to cope when you've thought about it ahead of time; at least I don't get as panicky as I might be otherwise.

Thanks @A MyCOPDTeam Member I spent 2 days in skilled nursing "rehab" 2 years and took myself out after 2 days because the food was inedible and I was told to pee in a diaper for both days. Nothing wrong with me I didn't need PT I just needed to get up and walk around because no one had allowed me to for 2 weeks, and I needed wholesome food to eat which I had in my own home. I hope you get better and better taking one day at a time, and if you already survived all of that you are stronger than you think, you just need some help.
