I Have Swelling In My Feet And Lower Legs. Moreover My Left. Is That Part Of COPD?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with COPD quite some time back. I dunno when. But I wasn't told anything about it. Just prescribed a couple of sprayers
I've actually just recently been learning about it pretty much on my own. So I'm still pretty dumb about it. Early summer before last I had Covid. It wasn't that bad I didn't think. I had horrible headaches at first, then I could not taste anything. I was not hospitalized. Myself and a family member who also had Covid were quarantined to home for 14… read more

Hello! My sister never quit smoking, which was really sad. She is gone now. If you stop smoking you should not only live longer but you could feel better. I smoked for 50 years, a lifetime. I did quit, if you need help I'm here..

He's telling you that smoking can kill you. The 2 and 1/2 years would be pretty nasty and death by cigarettes is really not a good way to go. If you can quit, then you have a chance of being able to get your life back with some hard work and determination; otherwise, it'll be a long 2 and a half years with things getting worse and worse and then you die, or worse, you don't die, but it still gets worse and worse. Not my choice of how I want to go out! What's your choice?

Hi @A MyCOPDTeam Member, doctors absolutely Hate smoking because they know what it does to us. So they are that bluntly honest most of the time. Surprised he didn't tell you as well as your daughter about the 2 1/2 years. When my doctor gave me the terrible news, just about the last thing he said before leaving the room was, At least you've quit smoking. He was right; I'm convinced it bought me some time.

Continued smoking greases the slide into faster decline......that was the blunt message delivered to me by a doctor. It's progressive illness but you can slow it somewhat by giving up the cigarettes.
