I am wondering what the chances are for a 70+ year old of having successful lung transplant surgery?
You need to find a transplant center that will do the surgery on people over 65 and be evaluated. I have a friend who got a double lung transplant at 73, but I think he was an outlier for two reasons: one, he was in really good physical shape except for rotten lungs, and two, he was one of the best advocates for COPD I've ever known. Generally, most centers won't consideranyone over 65.
Thank you for your information. π
