Hi Earnest. First, investigate your surroundings. Consider that the humidity of the room could be contributing to the SOB. IF you use O2, it is OKay to turn it up a couple notches too. You might find opening the Door AND a Window for more air circulation may help. Of course the temp of the room will go down too. That is the trade off.
Another option would be to turn on the ceiling exhaust fan if you have one. Or call an electrician if you don't.
be Well
It is very common, especially when you get to severe. It falls under the classification of something strenuous. So if on oxygen, you need to wear it in the shower or tub. [Just drape it over the shower curtain.] The reason for it to be a harder work out is usually washing your hair. [🧐But you don't have any.] The reaching up over your shoulders is not only using the arm and shoulder muscles. It is lifting your ribcage and stretching your diaphragm making it harder for your lungs to inhale and exhale.
Whether I do or don't wear the O2 in with me, I always do it in stages, and take breaks from reaching up and clean other parts, then go back and rinse. SO It kind of extends your shower time. It is when you get out of the bath tub that is the hardest on you. So get up slowly, sit down asap and rest. Drying off is also very strenuous. I use a terry robe as soon as I get out of the tub and then sit down on the toilet. To catch my breath and let my heart rest calm down. then I will towel of my feet and head. That is how I do it.
Getting anxious will also tighten up your chest, so don't let your mind scare you. just take your time and take breaks.
Wow, @A MyCOPDTeam Member ! Exactly why one needs a pulmonologist or respiratory therapist to help treat their breathing difficulties.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member Sounds like my clueless DOCTOR? I think I know as much as he does. He tries to use big medical words for simple things to look smart but my sister was a medical transcriptionist for years so he doesn’t fool me.
I wear my 02 when showering or bath.
