Members shared a wide range of small routines that help make living with COPD a little easier, with staying active being the most common theme, including short walks, electric bike rides, and gentle stretching before getting out of bed. Several members emphasized working smarter by sitting while vacuuming or gardening, planning meals and showers in advance, using inhalers before tasks, and taking breaks when feeling short of breath. A recurring theme was the importance of pacing yourself, asking for help without guilt, keeping a sense of humor, and finding purpose in daily routines no matter how small.

Definitely need to leave loads of time for everything so you don’t have to
rush. If it is something that requires you to rush then just skip it. Once
you know your limits it gets a lot easier

I bought an electric bike. I ride on average 200 minutes a week. I pedal the whole time with pedal assist on 2. I have ridden over 2500 miles in the three years I have owned the bike. I have been diagnosed with severe empazema . Riding and exercise will improve your condition, especially climbing stairs.

Usually I feel my best when I first wake up in the morning, so I feel like stretching my legs and feet before I get out of bed. Then if I can do a couple minutes here and there throughout the day, my legs stay a bit stronger. We're finally learning we don't have to do all our exercise in one session, thank goodness.

Keeping up with your routines however small they are, is important. We all need purpose, if you decide to clean the refrigerator today, figure it may take all day, then start slow, one thing at a time. I have a problem with getting into an exercise routine, knowing full well how mega important it is to keep our bodies and minds flexible and strong, it's just hard to start for me. Anyway, keeping a good attitude is ultra important. I have 26% lung function on 2L oxygen 24/7, gets to b a hassle to go anywhere, but I go just to have a change of scenery. My 48 year old son is my caregiver, doing everything but giving me showers and changing my clothes, but I wouldn't know what to do without him. Oh, and I will be 76 September 14, just quit smoking almost 3 years ago. Soooo glad I did. Do daily nebulized drugs twice a day. Some days I do get mildly depressed but snap out of it eventually. Anyway, have a great day.

I have enjoyed reading all the different answers?so thanks for a great
quston and all the answers.
For myself, I have 2 simple routines.
The first one is grinding my blend of coffee, the aroma is so amazing 😊.
Then I make my coffee and sit at my table just enjoying the flavour and of
course the aroma.
The second thing I do is before bed, I have my tea. Red rose tea with milk
and sugar ( non sugar). I relaxes me and soothes me especially on
difficult days.
These really are simple things to have one breath at a time.
