Medicare Will Not Cover My Nebulizer Rx Albuterol And Atrovent/iptroprium. What Else Is Covered?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I like using the nebulizer for my albuterol and Atrovent/iptropium Rx but my doctor says that Medicare will not cover the cost in Arkansas. What else is an option?

Okay, heads up - medicare is NOT the same in all States. Where some cover nebs and meds, others don't. Medicare is administered by the States, not the Feds, so - a word to the wise. If you have questions, call your local Medicare office.

Whoa, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, you're confused. Medicare is administered by the feds and Medicaid is administered by the states. The rules for Medicare are the same no matter where you live. That's not to say that they are always followed or interpreted the same way, but the rules are the same. If you're having a problem, I suggest you call the Medicare Beneficiary Complaint Hotline:

Medicare covers mine so I would definitely ask about it. I get mine from Med-Care, (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) .They get a script from my Dr and ship at least a month's supply of albuterol and equipment supplies.

I would call Medicare myself and ask them about it, it could be that your doctor just needs to fill out some paper work saying it' necessary. I don't believe everything a doctor tells me when it come to Medicare.
